He’s turned on the spotme if you’re interested in his journey, but as the race is over now it’s more a victory lap than a rush back home.

Should be here in a couple of weeks however looking at his heading he might be off to Iceland to try some puffin soup first!

I’ve enjoyed a very relaxing time here on Terceria.

It was great having Valerie here last week I hired a car and we really explored the Island.

There’s a volcano cave, a place where steam pours from the ground, beautifully laid out picnic and bar-B-Q sites and swimming places among the volcanic rocks.

Apart from a bit of a shower on Thursday its been sunny all the time not like back home I gather.

Im still doing a few repairs and mods to the boat but nothing to taxing.

David is coming out here on Friday 11th and we are going to sail around the Islands for a week.

I shall probably leave about the 20th to sail home. I shall be single handed again. I’ll have the tracker running while I’m out with David and for the trip home so you will be able to follow my progress if you want.

Well what an adventure. The electrics went four days out so I had to steer the boat by hand and navigate by stars for rest of 8 days.

But I had the excitement of sailing through two gales to distract me.

Glad of a long nights sleep when I arrived. No fun getting up and down all night to check my heading.

I was the first yacht under 26 feet to arrive and 13th boat in all.

We’re still waiting for 14 more boats to arrive. Hope they are just enjoying the cruise!

Heard that Carlos was offering to put me up whilst I’m here, that would be great. If you could leave your email then I’ll give you a shout.

Sorry to have to inform everyone who made a cash donation to the cause but the Jepps Household has had a break-in.

Fortunately all the donations online are safe!

However some despicable types broke in the back of George’s house dug through the donation paperwork and stole all the cash which had been donated.

Happy to say that Val and Ben Jepps we’re ok and out of the house at the time. The house was not too badly damaged. Of course the police have been informed.

Sorry to have to deliver bad news, especially as George has been doing so well. But the donators obviously have to be told.

Thanks for all your support and encouragement, I’m sure that will mean so much more than the negatives George will have missed on his Journey.

I can confirm that he left just about on time this afternoon at 2pm and he’s officially off to the Azores.

I’ll be updating his chart as he goes, thanks to everyone who’s helped and everyone who chipped in to set him off with over £1000 of motivation for Little Hearts Matter.
